AIRTEC Motorsport are proud to introduce the front mount intercooler upgrade for the VAG MQB EA888.3 platform.
This freer-flowing intercooler is a direct replacement for the smaller and more restrictive OEM set up.

With its advanced 63mm core design and high-flow cast end tanks, the AIRTEC intercooler offers a significant increase in surface area, efficiency, and volume compared to the standard one. Despite this notable improvement, it easily fits behind the original bumper without the need for any trimming or cutting. As with all AIRTEC products, this intercooler was tested directly against the OEM item on the dyno. The results showed a massive reduction in air charge temperatures compared to the standard intercooler. Our test car was equipped with a Cobra cat-back exhaust system and running Revo Stage 1 software, which struggled to produce a peak power increase of 40bhp due to the OEM VW intercooler's restrictions and inefficiency in cooling intake temperatures. However, with the AIRTEC intercooler installed, the IAT saw a significant drop of 120 degrees, keeping temperatures much closer to ambient levels and ensuring consistent performance run after run.
